In May 2007 Nahr al Bared Refugee Camp, home to over 40,000 Palestinian refugees, became the site of a 4-month battle between the Lebanese Army and extremist group Fatah al-Islam. During this time over 40 civilians, 167 soldiers and over 200 Fatah al-Islam members were killed. 40,000 refugees were displaced.

Dr. Laila Al-Marayati traveled to Lebanon to visit Palestinian refugee camps in November 2007.  She witnessed firsthand the devastation of the Nahr el Bared Camp as a result of fighting between a militant group and Lebanese armed forces. Over 30,000 refugees had to flee yet again to escape the fighting and now are faced with even more dire living conditions.

Kelly Hayes-Raitt joined a delegation to Lebanon with the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee in September 2007, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the massacres at Sabra and Shatilla, where 3,000 innocent refugees were slaughtered.  She interviewed survivors and victims’ family members, as well as displaced Nahr el-Bared refugees at the Beddawi camp.  Kelly will be leaving this week to join a delegation to Mindanao, Philippines.  She records her experiences at www.PeacePATHFoundation.org

Dear CAMS Friends and Supporters,

CAMS is stepping up our work, as we remain committed to demilitarize our schools and provide alternatives with our eye on transforming the present school culture.  Here are just a few of the many ways we are doing this:

Locally:  Our Adopt a School Project will continue to be the foundation of our work, as we work to provide information, resources and "swag" (stickers, buttons and pencils) freely to students at 50 high schools in the greater Los Angeles area.  We also will expand our work  with Project Great Futures in providing the alternatives systemically to high schools at Career Fairs.  CAMS has  also recently proposed a pilot volunteer position to LAUSD called Military Career Alternatives to have a weekly presence at 10 to 15 high schools starting in the fall.  This Advocate will present information, resources and military enlistment realities to students funded by CAMS (thanks to your support).

Nationally:  CAMS is connected to a network of counter recruitment organizations, state and national teacher’s unions, veterans and community groups nationally.  We have provided training to national leaders and groups, passed resolutions at state and national teachers conventions, and testified in support of student privacy legislation AB 2994 which will be sent to the state assembly in the near future.

Internationally:  We have supported the teachers in Japan to victory, as they would not submit to the militarism of their schools.  We are also working closely with international teachers from Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rica and throughout the US regarding the militarism in the school culture.

Please support our local work by joining us in this FUNDRAISER CELEBRATION on May 31st.

And PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR CONTACTS.  And thank you again, for making our work possible.

This tour marks the 40th anniversary of the remarkable year of 1968 - a year in which the U.S. ruling class and its allies around the world faced the greatest challenges to its rule in a generation.

In January, the Tet Offensive exposed the lies of the brutal U.S. policy in Vietnam — sparking both a massive anti-war movement at home, and the beginnings of a U.S. soldiers rebellion against the war in Vietnam.

In April, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated and 100 cities rose in rebellion against racism and poverty.

From the horror of Vietnam, to US military forces occupying major American cities, to the Chicago police riot against anti-war demonstrators at the Democratic National Convention, the brutality of the U.S. rulers was laid bare as the whole world watched.

Together these events led millions to question not only the U.S. government and its priorities, but also the very nature of the society we live in.

What was the connection between the anti-war movement and the fight against racism?

What do the events of four decades ago mean for activists and radicals organizing for a better world today?

Researchers are learning that these operations, which produce Chemtrails, are dramatically altering the nature of the atmosphere and our health in ways that threaten our very existence upon this planet. The U.S. Air Force calls such a theory a "hoax" and explains away the phenomenon as contrails. But analysis of the trails left behind by certain jet aircraft reveal that they are composed of harmful chemicals, and are being deliberately produced and covered up by the government. While Chemtrails may look like contrails initially, they are much thicker, extend across the sky and are often in patterns of Xs, tic-tac-toe grids, cross-hatched and parallel lines. These patterns open into wispy formations which join together, forming a canopy of haze or thin white veil that persists for hours. Witnesses have noticed planes intensively laying down broad white plumes over every major city and rural area in the United States and Canada since 1998. They have also been seen in Europe, Australia, Mexico, Bahamas, Brazil, Croatia, and Puerto Rico. Why should you be concerned about Chemtrails? Researchers believe possible uses for such an operation could include weather modification, bio-warfare or massive scale population reduction. Symptoms from exposure include; upper respiratory and intestinal distress, pneumonia, extreme fatigue, splitting headaches, aching joints and muscles, depression and other health related issues. Clifford Carnicom and Dr. Gwen Scott, ND will present to the public the latest information on disturbing biological findings at the California Chemtrail Convergence on Saturday, May 17th at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church* located at 3300 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. Also scheduled to speak is Native American Activist and Poet, John Trudell. Seating begins at 4:00 PM. In an attempt to build networks of support, the public is also invited to bring photos from their communities to share with others. To see why this is such an important issue, please watch this short video clip. For more information on the California Chemtrail Convergence call 805-653-1588 or visit GoodKarmaPR.com for pre-sale tickets. About The Speakers Clifford Carnicom has been an independent researcher on the aerosol operations (aka Chemtrails) for the past nine years.
