JOIN MPAC FOR "AL-NAKBA: THE UNTOLD STORY"

Featuring prominent speakers who will discuss historical components of the conflict, the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians today, and current political realities at home and abroad.
On Sunday, May 25, the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Islamic Center of Southern California will hold an important panel discussion on "Al-Nakba (The Catastrophe): The Untold Story" featuring prominent speakers who will discuss historical components of the conflict, the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians today, and current political realities at home and abroad.
The forum will feature Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim, Chair of the History Department at California Polytechnic University in Pomona; Basel Othman, Palestine Children Relief Fund; Dr. Nayyer Ali, MPAC Chairman and co-author of "In Pursuit of Justice: The Jurisprudence of Human Rights in Islam"; and Dr. Maher Hathout, MPAC Senior Advisor.

Last week, MPAC also released its "60 Years of Palestinian Suffering Resource Kit", which provides practical tools to organize public awareness efforts in cities across the country. The kit includes a historical timeline of events, web resources, and a petition to circulate and deliver to members of Congress.

Thusday, May 15 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel. On this occasion, Palestinians mark the 60th year of "al-Nakba" the term used to describe the continuing catastrophe that characterizes life for Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and diaspora.
