2801 Waverly Street, Santa Ana 92705

Santa Ana Band Razteca and KPFK / CISPES Personality Don White Host

Orange County Peace Action and Chican@s Unidos are sponsoring recent graduate and Orange County teacher / Activist Carolyn Torres to go on a 10 day delegation to Oaxaca, Mexico in order that the unheard voices of that region might be amplified, and to signal to all parties that more and more eyes will be watching what the US-funded Mexican government and its paramilitaries do to the teachers, workers, and indigenous of that region.

The party is also to celebrate our ongoing program of leadership development here in Orange County which – largely through the work of El Centro Cultural De Mexico – has become reborn as a new front advancing the labor and human rights struggle here in what is called Califas or North America.

Please join us at 5 pm. Entry is free, but a donation is requested. The bar is no host, and we will have a special DJ, musical guests Razteca (a Mechica Reggae Band), and special guests from KPFK radio including National Pacifica Board Member Don White

Say thank you to Carolyn for making time in her life to do this by showing up and supporting her in any way.

In particular, churchs, community and labor organizations, and contacts in the media are invited and welcome!

For peace and justice thanks to your time, labor, and/or generous financial support,

The delegation fundraising committee,

Eyewitness Report:  V-DAY in the Big Easy

Feminists call to end violence against women!

This April thousands of feminist women and men gathered in New Orleans to mark the 10th anniversary of V-DAY.  They chose the Big Easy to support the female survivors of Hurricane Katrina and of the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Congo.  V-DAY originated from Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues, and is now a growing global movement to end violence against women and girls.   Librarian and feminist Patricia Todd will give a first-hand account at Radical Women’s June meeting of the inspiring actions and conclusions of this historic event.  Join the discussion on how to build a revolutionary crusade to defend women’s lives.

Summer supper, with vegetarian option, will be served at 6:30 p.m. for a $7.00 donation.  Meeting begins at 7:30 pmSolidarity Hall, 2170 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles.  Off the 10 Freeway at Western Ave., on bus lines #30, 31 & 35.  For more information contact: 323-732-6416, RadicalWomenLA@aol.com or visit www.RadicalWomen.org
