Reverend Lawson is a world-recognized leader in non-violent civil protest. He studied with Gandhi and later trained civil rights activists in the South. Lawson and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were friends and colleagues. At Lawson’s request, Dr. King delivered his Mountaintop speech in support of the Memphis Sanitation Workers. The day after he delivered his speech, Dr. King was assassinated.
We hope you can make it to celebrate the important work of Reverend Lawson and CAMS!
