Mark Ridley-Thomas, our “Man of the People,” is in a close run-off election on November 4 for the position of County Supervisor for Los Angeles County District 2, which includes most of Mar Vista and parts of West L.A. He is opposed by city councilman and former Los Angeles police chief Bernard Parks. This position is an extremely important one because, among other vital responsibilities, county supervisors are in charge of our election officials
