This launch of the festival will then be followed by similar launches in China, Manila, Syracuse, NY, the California Bay Area, Seattle, WA and other locations throughout the year. The festival features over 40 short documentary films about the work of local and international social action organizations and the efforts they are making in their communities. One feature-length, award-winning documentary — War Dance – will be screened the evening of the 28th,. This story of the struggles and resilience of children living in a Ugandan war region and their remarkable presence in a national performance competition demonstrates the powerful impact our actions can have on the most difficult situations.
The Los Angeles event will be taking place at Pierce College in their Great Hall building, 6201 Winnetka Ave. Woodland Hills, CA, February 28th. A complete listing of the screenings and events can be found at the festival web site, www.isaff.org. All donations for these screenings are shared with local organizations serving the community, with 80% of all admission donations going to designated charitable organizations.
The festivals in San Diego and Los Angeles are made possible, in part, by the generous support of Mission Federal Credit Union and SeaWorld.
